Fastest way is a photo. Half the time I can give you a number without driving out at all.

What to send

  1. A photo of the whole tree with something in frame for scale — a person, a car, the house. One close-up of anything that worries you.
  2. Your town, or the address if you'd rather.
  3. One sentence on what's going on. “Big limb over the garage I don't like the look of” is plenty.

If it's a hazard, say so in the first line and I'll move it up the list.

What happens next

I'll come back to you the same day if you reach me before 5pm on a weekday. Often I can price it straight from the photo. If I need to see it in person, that visit is free and there's no obligation on the other end of it.

Most jobs happen within days of the estimate.

What the price includes

Cleanup and haul-away, always, not added at the end. Want the logs kept back for firewood? Say so up front and my crew will stack them rather than chip them. Here's what the work costs and what moves the number.

Before you book a removal

Check whether your city needs a permit. In Austin a 24-inch oak generally can't be removed at all. The rules for each town are here.
